When does the 2019 F1 Spanish Grand Prix takes place?
The Spanish F1 Grand Prix 2019 will take place on the 10th, 11th and 12th of May 2019. During this long weekend, the Circuit de Catalunya will host the fifth appointment of the season of this Formula 1 World Championship, started the past 17th of March with the Australian Grand Prix. The biggest favourite is the British Lewis Hamilton, the current champion and who will try to defend his title with his Mercedes, once again the main motor-racing team to beat. However, we can’t forget about Ferrari (known by the tifosi as “Il Cavallino Rampante”), the candidate to wrest the "Silver Arrows" hegemony. We can't lose sight of Red Bull or McLaren temas, even though it seems this season will be a duel between Mercedes and Ferrari.
If you want to make sure that you don’t miss any training or, of course, the Grand Prix, we recommend you to check the timetable of the Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya

Where will it be?
As we mentioned earlier, this Formula 1 Grand Prix takes place in the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, also known as Circuit de Montmeló due to its location. The circuit, inaugurated in 1991, had its first F1 GP a few weeks later. The first winner was the British Nigel Mansell, after an amazing fight with Ayrton Senna in the final sprint. Since then, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya annually hosts competitions as big as the Formula 1 GP, the MotoGP Grand Prix and the FIA Rallycross Championship. As well as all these competitions, this circuit created on 2005 a programme called “Programa de Jóvenes Pilotos de Automovilismo” (Young Driver Programme), with the aim to promote young talents of the motor racing world and help launch their professional career.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has capacity for 131 000 people. In 2018, the Spanish F1 Grand Prix – celebrated between the 11th and the 13th of May – had more than 172 000 attendees during the whole event.
