Strolling under Barcelona's Christmas lights
One of the favourite activities for locals and tourists alike is strolling along the lit-up streets during the festive season. If you want to join the experience, you should know that the 2022 Barcelona Christmas lights will be switched on next Thursday 24 November, and you will be able to see them at the following times:
- Sunday to Thursday - 17:30 to 22 hours.
- Fridays and Saturdays - 17:30 to 23:00 hours
- 31 December and 5 January - 17:30 to 1 am
The Christmas lights will be on until 5 January, when the Three Wise Men travel through the city in the traditional Cavalcade.
Enjoying music and culture
From classical music concerts to special activities in museums and living nativity scenes, Christmas in Barcelona is full of tradition and culture.
If you like music, check out the Christmas concerts at the Liceu and l'Auditori. For a fun plan with children, you can go to Christmas in Poble Espanyol, where can greet Santa and the Three Wise Men. For Christmas lights lovers, the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site hosts Els Llums de Sant Pau, an impressive technological show set in the universe and the galaxies.

Barcelona is the ideal city to find the perfect gift for your family and friends. You can browse the shops on Paseo de Gracia and Portal del Angel, where you'll find literally everything, or visit Barcelona's best Christmas shop, Käthe Wohlfahrt's shop in the central Gothic Quarter.
