Grand Hotel Central Casa Cambo Batlle

PIONEER

At the time of its construction it was the tallest building in Barcelona and one of the first to have an elevator.

RACIONALIST DESIGN

The façade is divided into clearly defined sections: the ground floor where the pillars and the entrance atrium stand out with neoclassical decoration, a second story dedicated to offices with the rationalist aesthetics typical of the Chicago movement, and the upper level with palatial airs, that breaks with the sobriety of the façade.
This historic building, designed by the brilliant Catalan Noucentista architect Adolf Florensa, was reimagined as a hotel in 2005 and completely refurbished in 2024.
