Martínez

A unique restaurant and look-out-post specialising in tapas, grilled meats and ‘platos de cuchara’ or brothy rice and fideua dishes (including different varieties of paella).

The location, on Monjuïc, is good enough reason to come here, this former abandoned look-out was recently reformed offering 360° views from its terrace that overlooks the Mediterranean, the city and both the new and old port with its continual comings and goings.

As well as the food and views Martínez is also a good place to sample the wines of Catalonia (and other parts of Spain) together with an afternoon ‘vermut’, a Barcelona custom where the fortified wine infused with herbs and spices is served with pre-dinner tapas.
