Some buildings transcend the passage of time. For a century, the building that today houses Grand Hotel Central has been part of Barcelona's skyline and history. A witness to the city's evolution, it has preserved its essence while evolving into one of Barcelona's leading luxury hotels.
One hundred years after its construction, we pay tribute to this iconic building, which has accompanied the city's evolution and continues to serve as a meeting point between history, culture and local life.
To commemorate this centenary, we have created a collection of exclusive experiences inspired by the building's legacy and the spirit of Barcelona. Three distinctly local experiences created to celebrate its history through gastronomy, mixology and architecture: a dessert created in collaboration with Brunells, one of Barcelona's most historic pâtisseries; a signature cocktail developed together with the iconic Boadas cocktail bar; and an architectural tour revealing the history of the building and Via Laietana.
The celebration also coincides with an exceptional year for the city. In 2026, Barcelona is the UNESCO–UIA World Capital of Architecture, the centenary of Antoni Gaudí's death is commemorated, and the Tower of Jesus Christ at the Sagrada Família is scheduled for completion. Within this context, the Noucentisme Tour. Beyond Gaudí, developed in collaboration with Barcelona Design Tours, invites our guests to discover the architectural heritage that shaped early twentieth-century Barcelona, highlighting the history of the building and its close relationship with the urban transformation of Via Laietana.
An invitation to celebrate a century of history and discover the soul of a building that honours its past while embracing the future.
